Thinking About Christianity?

Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ?

The Bible teaches that God created each of us to have a relationship with Him.  However, because of our innate sin nature and His holiness, that relationship is broken.  He loves us so much He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins so that we could have a personal relationship with Him.  Simply knowing these facts is not enough.  Just as that new coffee maker you got last Christmas only benefits you if you actually open the box and plug it in, God’s free gift of salvation only applies to you if you accept it.

The Bible says . . .

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15
“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:22-24
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:8-9
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13

God wants you to admit your need, that you are a sinner, to Him.  He wants you to repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and be your Savior.  God promises that all who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved from the penalty of sin, which is everlasting torment in hell.

If you would like to receive the Lord Jesus as your Savior, accepting God’s free gift of salvation from the punishment for sin, just ask Him!  If you are uncomfortable praying, or are unsure how to pray, here is a sample prayer you may use.

“Jesus, I know I’m a sinner.  Please forgive me.  Please save me from the punishment for my sins.  Thank you for paying the price for my sins when you died on the cross and rose again.  Please be with me always.  Thank you.  Amen.”

At this point, your relationship with God begins, as you are now His child.  Now you need to join a local church where you can fellowship with other believers who can support you on your new journey with Christ.  If you have accepted the Lord as your Savior, please let us know!  We want to rejoice with you!  We would love to welcome you into the family of God!
