Living Nativity Christmas Service December 16, 2012

We are so thankful for the children and teens here at Beacon!  God has really blessed us!  Words can’t express how impressed we were with the youth as they presented the Christmas story from God’s Word in such a beautiful way!  Then they quickly changed and sang for us!  After Pastor Bill’s sermon on “A Wise Approach to Christmas,” we had a delicious ham dinner and played games.  What a great day!  Praise the Lord!

Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner

Thanksgiving means we are giving thanks to God for His many blessings and provisions for us. God is SO good!  We had a special Thanksgiving service on November 18, 2012 followed by an Outreach Dinner.  One of our members raised and donated fresh turkeys, then Saturday the 17th some of our church guys helped them corral and slaughter them.  A group decorated.  Another group “shopped & chopped.”  So many of our church folks came together to provide this outreach meal, and for them we are VERY thankful!

We would also like to thank Stamp Farms for their donations of pumpkins and gourds, Schartner Farms for their donations of potatoes, carrots, and other goodies, and Dave’s Market and Stop & Shop for their donations to help us to put this meal on for the community.

So, pictured together are Saturday’s “prep” and Sunday’s service and dinner.  Thanks again to everyone who gave and worked so hard!  To God be the glory, and Happy Thanksgiving!

The Beacon Christmas 2012

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, & Happy New Year!!

What a great year 2012 was!  God has been so good to us!  He blessed us with a mild winter last year enabling us to build the church more quickly.  Already this fall we had a Nor’easter with freezing rain, snow, and icy winds.  If that had happened last year when we were trying to put the roof on, it would have made things move more slowly for sure!  That is just one example of the provision God gave for getting the church built.

Our Harvest Party went so well this year at the church!! Our kids & grown-ups alike especially look forward to Pinatas, Games, Great Food, Hot Spiced & Cold Cider, Pie Baking Contest, Candied Apples, Campfire Sing-a-long, Devotion, Marshmallow Roasting, Great Fellowship, and Tons of Fun! (Campfire Marshmallow Roasting took a raincheck for the following week due to bad weather.  We had a great time around the fire-pit after some planning meetings.) It was great to have Dave & Gaye Nobles and Tommy & Sue Goodfellow visit that day!  What a blessing!! We had multiple first-time visitors who said they loved the church.  Please pray for us as we reach out to them and to others!

As we look toward Thanksgiving and Christmas, we’d like to ask you to pray about our outreach ministries.  We are planning a Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner with fresh turkeys for Sunday, November 18.  Please pray for us as we prepare food for 200 + people and that it would be an effective outreach ministry.

December 16 is our Living Nativity and Church Christmas Dinner–please pray as we prepare and advertise these events and for many people to respond to God’s great offer of Salvation in Jesus Christ!  Thank you!!

We want to personally thank each of you for your faithful prayers and support!  May God bless you with a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year!

Thanks again,
Pastor Bill, Christy, Michaela, Hannah, Billy,  Sarah, & Cocoa

Harvest Party 2012

This year’s Harvest Party was such a blast because we had it at our new church building! We had so much extra room and a ton of fun!! Lots of food, hot spiced and cold cider, carmel apples, and of course, the Pie Baking Contest! It was a close call once again with so many delicious entries. This year the 5 winning ladies took home gift cards to the new Hobby Lobby!!
We played games like musical chairs, ping pong, and basketball. We also had a quick game of manhunt before it was time for pinatas! After the kids got their “loot,” they came in and started “trading sessions” until we gathered in a circle for a devotion and a sing-a-long. Even though we couldn’t have our campfire and roast marshmallows because it was raining, we had a WONDERFUL time together. We’re so thankful for God’s goodness to us!
